At Event Cinema Workshops in Chicago (10/3/11-10/4/11) and Boston (10/6/11-10/7/11), led by Kevin Shahinian, Joe Simon and a special collaboration with Patrick Moreau of StillMotion, attendees were give a unique challenge to create short films in small groups on the second day of the event. These films were limited to run times of 30 to 60 seconds and were to tell a story without sync sound exploring the theme of “time.” Three groups in each city were led by instructors from conceptualization through production. Attendees then took copies of their group’s raw footage and created their own edit after the event for entry into a contest with generous prizes awarded by Event Cinema Workshop sponsors Zacuto, Cinevate, Kessler Crane, and LensProToGo.
