This complete full day course includes an exploration of advanced narrative theories, techniques to maximize production value from pre-production through post, and a dissection of the all new Canon C300 complete with hands-on training and shooting exercises with this exciting new camera.

Morning Session (9:00am-12:00pm)
-Fundamentals of cinematic storytelling and an introduction to advanced narrative theories to engage your audience and take your live event & corporate films, shorts, and commercials to the next level.
-Cinematography tutorials covering techniques to capture stunning moving images under various conditions through an analysis of lens choice, lighting, and camera placement, accounting for the intricacies of the all new Canon C300 and how best to compliment it with HDSLRs.
-Ideal camera settings to capture refined moving images on the Canon C300; a breakdown of the cameras function and the ideal in-camera recipe to achieve maximum latitude for any desired mood or effect.
-Pre-production logistics and proven production workflows including tips on scheduling & budgeting, techniques for creative problem-solving, and how to exploit a number of resources to achieve maximum production value at the lowest possible cost.
-Master various directing techniques to illicit convincing performances from your on-screen talent and essential tips to get the most from a small crew.
-The class will then be divided into two crews for a pre-production and conceptualization session where topics will be put into practice in preparation for the afternoon session hands-on shooting intensive.

Afternoon Session (1:00pm-5:00pm)
-The class will remain divided into two equal sized crews and will rotate between distinct setups using the C300 and the concept developed during the morning session. At least two complete C300 kits will be available, one for each crew; and each crew will be given equal time with both instructors.
-Each crew member will be given an opportunity to take footage home to produce a unique edit of the conceptualized scenes for critique from both instructors and a chance to win prizes from our generous sponsors.
-The afternoon session will end with a brief post-production intensive on the C300 on various NLEs, including a brief analysis of short form editing and color grading.
Registration for this course covers both morning and afternoon sessions for the full day of instruction ($700.00).
